Michaela Carte, MSW, Supervisee in Social Work
Hello! My name is Michaela and I am a Supervisee in Social Work in the state of Virginia. I am an active duty military spouse and enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have experience treating a variety of anxiety and depressive disorders, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Adjustment Disorders. I utilize several modalities including Exposure Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These modalities focus on reframing the way anxiety is viewed in the body and challenges each individual to build a new relationship with their thoughts and emotions.
I believe that therapy should be focused on what the client needs at that moment. Each client is unique, therefore their treatment should be as well. I enjoy helping clients recognize and utilize their strengths to overcome life's adversities.
