Gemma Archer, Practicum

Through my own mental health journey and experience in the world I have found a passion for helping others gain an understanding of themselves and how they function in the world. I strive to create an open, trusting, and compassionate relationship with all of my clients. My goal is to help you understand your emotions in the larger contexts of your life, give them space, and learn skills to live with them.

Together, we can work to find equilibrium in those big emotions and find strengths in your challenges. My intention for each session is for you to feel lighter and more prepared for any issues or struggles that come your way. I enjoy working with individuals who are experiencing life transitions, anxiety, individuating from family, relationship issues, and decision making.

I use aspects of DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and skill building. These types of therapeutic approaches use practical skill building techniques to gain a deeper understanding of your inner self. I want you to feel invited to come to me with any issue or problem you care to bring to our time together. I look forward to being there for you and collaborating as a team in the work, because you are your own best expert. I would be honored to join you in the process of becoming more comfortable in yourself!
