Sarah Lander, Mental Health Specialist
Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am a Mental Health Specialist with Kinder Mind in Mississippi. I am a 2012 graduate of Troy University, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and 10 years of experience working with adolescents and college students, in both an educational and counseling setting. I have spent a large portion of my career working with girls ages 12-18 struggling with anxiety, depression, body image issues, addiction and self harm. This has only deepened my desire to do more for the children and families of Mississippi. The time I have spent working with children and young adults of diverse backgrounds has led me to a belief in client based therapy, with a focus on self esteem building. I also employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and emotional processing techniques . I am passionate about providing care to the young people of Mississippi and look forward to meeting you soon!

To cater to the unique needs of each client, I employ a range of therapeutic modalities, including person-centered approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and humanistic therapy, among others. When not dedicated to my work, I relish spending time outdoors, particularly engaging in activities like kayaking and exploring nature.
Harley Spencer, Practicum
Hello there! My name is Harley Spencer, and I am currently completing my MSW at UKY. I’m a Kentucky girl through and through, so if you decide to work with me, be warned you’re bound to hear my good ol’ country accent. I hope that it just adds a little extra charm in every session!
As a therapist, my passion for helping people drives my mission to provide compassionate support and guidance as individuals navigate life's challenges. My overall goal is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can experience healing, growth, and personal empowerment, no matter what you're facing. I have specfic experience working with women, teenagers/young adults, and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and disordered eating. My passion for these areas grew during my time spent at an eating disorder clinic, where I had the privilege of supporting individuals through their recovery process. This experience deepened my commitment to helping those struggling with these specific challenges and reinforced my belief in the power of healing and transformation.
I welcome all individuals, regardless of background or religious perspective. For clients who wish to integrate faith into their therapeutic journey, I offer an optional Christian-based approach. Together, we can explore how your faith can support your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Understanding that every client is unique, I take a client-centered approach to ensure that the care I provide is specifically tailored to your individual needs. Whether you're seeking healing from past wounds, guidance through a difficult season, or practical tools to improve your mental health, I am here to walk alongside you.
