Samantha Schall, Practicum
My name is Samantha Schall, and I am currently completing my practicum at Kinder Mind while pursuing my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Kentucky. I bring over eight years of professional experience in recruitment, program management, and community outreach. Throughout my career, I have focused on helping individuals access opportunities, guiding them through transitions, and building partnerships that expand resources for underserved populations.
In my practicum, I am particularly interested in supporting clients facing trauma and chronic mental health challenges. I am committed to applying trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and evidence-based practices to create a safe, collaborative space for healing and growth. My goal is to continue developing the clinical and advocacy skills needed to serve individuals and communities with compassion and integrity.
Heather Tamadartaza, Practicum
Hi, my name is Heather, and I am an MSW student at the University of Kentucky. Before graduate school, I worked with survivors of sexual violence, many of whom were navigating PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I also taught literacy at a male prison, which taught me how to walk alongside people experiencing shame, anger, loss, and isolation. These experiences, along with my work in both community and private mental health, taught me the importance of creating a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental relationship as the foundation for growth.
My therapy style is curious, attentive, and grounded. I believe that within the right therapeutic relationship, everyone can process trauma, gain insight, and move toward a life that aligns with their values. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Psychodynamic theory, but I I view therapy as a collaborative process and will work with you to find the tools and approaches that best meet your needs.
